A Little Bush Maid by M Grant Bruce, first edition of her first book. A stunning cover with gilt embossing in superb condition on a burgundy cloth. Some slight bumping to top and bottom of the spine. No dust wrapper. Published as a first edition in1910 by Ward,Lock and Co. There is a some light foxing throughout more obvious on the first few pages. Fronts-piece illustration and tissue paper are present with some light rippling of that page as seen above on the back with an attached note reading "Maggie from Auntie". The owners name is also inscribed above the Contents page. In addition to frontgspiece illustration there are a further seven black and white illustrations in the book. Many considered this Bruce's best book and certainly it had the most interesting cover. Overall in very good condition.
