Garden Beauties, editor Paul Jerrard. One of a series of stunning chromolithograph books by Jerrard. Published between 1854-1857. The  artist most likely Noel Humphreys. The illustrations are hand-coloured lithoraphs which have been gum heightened. There appears to be a recent brown leather back strap on the spine. The cover is  original, green and lacquered with gilt illustration and lettering which is slightly faded. The covers have some slight soiling.The end-papers are shown in the photo and are most attractive. The presentation page has two neat names which are difficult to read. The page edges are gilt. There are twelve illustrations as well as the title and presentation page all in brilliant colour. The text is printed in gold.There is some very slight foxing throughout. This book is in excellent condition.
