Black and gold blocked green cloth boards with largely gilt lettering to front and spine and gilt to page edges.Eight chromolithographed coloured plates and black and white illustratioons. Significantly this is a publisher's complimentary copy. This is indicated by the "with the publisher's compliments" embossed on the upper left corner of the title page. The cover shows some bumping to the corners and edges with slight losses to the top and bottom of the spine as seen in the photo.There is a previous owner's inscription on the free-front page. There is some light foxing to the early and last few pages but overall the book is tight and clean and in very good to excellent condition.
