Te Deum Laudamus, illuminated by Esther Faithfull Fleet and published by her sister, Emily Faithfull in 1868. . Emily Faithfull established the Victoria Press in 1860 and became the official printer to Queen Victoria, employing many women as printers. There are 29 chromolithographs each with a blank protective page and nine pages of descriptions of the plates.Reddish gilt edges. Contemporary stunning, tooled leather binding (slightly bumped edges) with new endpapers. There is a book-plate inside the front cover. Some light marks to the covers and foxing throughout the book particularly on the blank pages. There is a tear half-way through one of the blank pages, it has no impact on the book. The images themselves are free of foxing. The images are bright and sharp, visually wonderful. 195x260x20
