The Brown Fairy Book edited by Andrew Lang, first edition. Published by Longmans, Green and Co. in 1904. A classic fairy series cover with gilt embossing perhaps a little faded on the spine. There are eight coloured plates and numerous black and white illustrations thoughout the book by H.J. Ford. The page edges are gilt. The end- papers are the wonderful original maroon with silver illustrations with some slight losses in the gutter in particular. There is slight bumping to the top and bottom of the spine and the corners. The frontspiece is present with tissue paper intact. There is light browning of the pages throughout. This book is in very good condition ++.
