The Coral Island by R.M. Ballantyne,1913 with rare dust-wrapper. This hard-cover edition has a preface by J.M.Barrie and was published by James Nisbet and Co. The dust-wrapper has had internal invisible tape repairs and has chips towards the top of the spine. The wrapper shows some light soiling. There is a photo ofthe dust-wrapper and the last photo shows the wrapper in a non-adhesive protective propylene wrapper with paper underneath it. This is easily removed. The end-papers are marbled and red. The half-tile page has an insciption shown in the photo above and has foxing as does the title page. The fronts-piece picture has the tissue guard with a map although part of the tissue guard is detached. The page edges show foxing. There are eight colour tipped in pictures with tissue guards. Then pictures are clean and mounted on green thich paper. There is scattered foxing throughout the book. Overall a good copy with the special appeal of the dust-wrapper.
