The Vegetative Eye by Max Harris, first edition. Published in 1943 as a hard-cover. A very fragile war-time dust-wrapper which is soiled and chipped as is usual. I have a photo with the book unwrapped and subsequently there are some careful internal repairs to the dust-wrapper and it is now enclosed in a protective, removable, acid-free, polypropylene wrapper with a paper backing. There is a photo of this. The cover and pages show some browning and spotting on the text block edges but the book is  internally quite clean and tight.There are some small losses on the front cloth cover as seen in the photo.
What distinguishes this book is that it is the first by Max Harris and the first illustrated by Sydney Nolan. One of a limited edition of 1500 copies.
